Overview
The Agile Conference series has become the premier place for bringing to the international community the results of scientific research on agile software development processes and practices. The Agile 2007 conference invites researchers and practitioners to contribute their part to the advance of our knowledge and understanding of these processes: agile methods, and the tools and practices that support them. Our objectives are to enrich our collective body of knowledge, influence the line of thought in the field, encourage debate, and bring innovative ideas, while applying rigorous scientific approaches.

We are inviting submissions on all aspects of agile methods and their application.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Research on existing or new methodologies and approaches: Adaptive, Agile Modeling, Crystal, DSDM, eXtreme Programming, FDD, Lean, Scrum, OpenUP, informal modeling techniques and practices, adapting existing methods, special projects or others.
• Research on agile methods in various industrial contexts, good practices, and patterns.
• Research on existing or new techniques or practices: pairing, war-rooms, test-first design, paper-based prototyping, executable acceptance testing, storytest driven development, behavior-driven development, exploratory testing, refactoring, mock objects, and others.
• Research on dealing with large systems or legacy systems.
• Integration of hard requirements (for example, high safety and security) in agile processes; certification.
• Research on business facets of agile methods: agile adoption, agile project management, user involvement, agile estimation, and economics of agility.
• Research on special topics or tools: configuration and resource management, continuous integration, design for agility, virtual teams or others.
• Research on integrating ideas from other fields, e.g. requirements engineering, cognitive science, organizational psychology, interaction design and HCI research, software security, into agileprocesses.
• Research studies of development teams using ethnographic or social research techniques.
• Quantitative and qualitative empirical studies of agile methods, practices, and tools (including replicated studies)

We encourage submissions to offer balanced perspectives and to address both benefits and limitations of the techniques discussed.

Papers need to follow the IEEE Two-Column Format

Our decision-making process
We are looking for original, finished research. To be accepted, a significant portion of the content must be new. The papers will undergo a scientifically rigorous peer-review. Motivation for research and discussion of the related work must be included.

Successful submissions will be considered for the Best Research Paper award.

Papers that report on work in progress should be submitted to the Research-In-Progress workshop.

The conference proceedings will be published by IEEE. Thus, all papers must follow the IEEE Proceedings Format to be reviewed. Papers are limited to 12 pages (no exception).

The conference aims to increase the participation of researchers. It will offer special discounts for presenters of accepted papers to attend the conference and present their research. Agile 2007 is offering a small amount of travel grants to academics and students.
